Intertextuality

Task: Spend 15 minutes looking at other 1960s horror film posters. 

• Make connections form me between these in terms of common themes, look, characters, story lines, location, colours etc. 

• Use thumbnails to make this a very visual page as possible - This can be bullet pointed, short hand notes.

What is intertextuality?
 
• Intertextuality is the way in which media texts purposely give references to other media texts in order to give the audience recognition. 

It involves the process of extracting elements from existing texts and subtly (or in some cases very unsubtly) including them in the making of your own, this can be Mise en scene, sound, editing, or simply the plot. 

Intertextuality often takes place in media forms under the same genre,
